My 70-Pound Wellness Journey
I believe every person carries a story of struggle and strength, of breaking and becoming. Mine is no different.
Growing up, I struggled deeply with body image. I constantly compared myself to others and quietly believed, “I’m not good enough.” That belief shaped my confidence, my personality, and my relationship with food.
On the outside, I smiled. On the inside, I was exhausted.
My energy was low. My cravings controlled me. My happiness depended on the number on the scale even when I knew that this is not way to live. In my teens, without proper guidance or support, I fell into unhealthy eating patterns and yo-yo dieting. At the same time, I watched my father struggle with Type 2 Diabetes. That became the turning point that pushed me into a lifelong quest to understand health at a deeper level.
After completing my Master’s in Microbiology, I continued studying nutrition and wellness. I learned about calories, macros, and calorie deficits. But something didn’t add up.
If weight loss were simply calories in versus calories out, why didn’t everyone following the same diet and exercise plan see the same results?
That question changed my life.
I realized:
Health is not just about quantity, it’s about quality. It’s about hormones, digestion, inflammation, metabolism, stress, sleep, environment, emotions, and individuality and there is no one size fits all approach. That realization led me to Ayurveda, the ancient science that finally answered the questions modern nutrition could not.
The Transformation
Through years of study, personal experimentation, and deep inner work, I transformed my life.
Today, in my late 50s:
I am 70 pounds lighter
My PCOS resolved
My prediabetes reversed
I sleep deeply
I move with ease
I feel clear, vibrant, and grounded
And I maintained these results even through menopause without crash diets, extremes, or burnout.
But the real transformation wasn’t just physical.
I rebuilt my confidence.
I learned self-compassion.
I stopped fighting my body and started honoring it.
What I Learned the Hard Way
Quick fixes look appealing.
Extreme diets promise fast results.
Restriction feels productive.
But true wellness requires balance.
Ayurveda taught me that health begins with:
A strong digestive fire
Balanced hormones
A calm nervous system
Sustainable daily rhythms
Self-love and self-awareness
Being healthy is not just about weight. It is about a healthy mind, a resilient body, and a nourished soul.
Why I Do This Work
I know what it feels like to:
Compare yourself constantly.
Feel trapped in cycles of dieting.
Fear body shamers.
Struggle with blood sugar spikes, inflammation, hormonal imbalances, low energy, constant cravings.
Wonder if things will ever change.
I also know healing is possible.
Like the Japanese art of kintsugi, where broken pottery is repaired with gold, I believe our wounds can become our strength. My struggles became my wisdom. My pain became my purpose. Today, I help others break free from restriction cycles, rebuild metabolism, stabilize blood sugar, and restore confidence through sustainable lifestyle changes rooted in Ayurveda and supported by science.
You are not broken.
You are not behind.
You are not alone.
And you are more capable than you think.
